Toyota has shifted into high gear, surging to the top of AdEase’s radio ad ranking. The automaker topped the chart during the week of May 12 to 18 with 6,133 ads aired, according to the the latest report from the monitoring company.
The advertiser saw a significant surge in ad occurrences, jumping from 396 last week. It finished first in Vancouver, second in Calgary, Toronto and Quebec, fourth in Ottawa and fifth in Edmonton.
Subway took second place with 6,073 combined occurrences, although it dipped from the previous week, featuring an ad for its fresh sandwich deal. Meanwhile, IKEA secured third spot with 5,069 total occurrences, marking an increase. Spence Diamonds ranked fourth with 4,649 combined occurrences, a decrease from last week, while Rona came in fifth with 4,606 occurrences, showing a significant boost.
The Brick Warehouse was the advertiser that moved the most positions on the list overall, having climbed 486 places to seventh in Edmonton.
On the category side, QSRs topped the list in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton, while furniture stores and automotive imports general also consistently rank high. In Ottawa, grocery stores and supermarkets take the lead, followed closely by furniture stores and TV and streaming services.
